Wildwood Lodge, located in North End on the edge of Hampstead Heath, is a grade II* listed semi-detached period house built in the early part of the 19th century with two later extensions. This historic site was in desperate need of a significant transformation and was to be restored and extended, and converted from a partial derelict building into a luxurious home suitable for modern family life. Although the interior of the house now completely represents modern design, the charm and elegance of the original property has been perfectly retained. The private domestic residence includes a new 4,000sqft basement providing swimming pool, gym, sauna, cinema room, and reception room.
The lighting division at Twisted Pear requested LED lighting which resembled natural light but could also be adjusted in temperature, and this was to be fitted above the 11 metre pool. Our Duro Flex, with the help of Ultra Bright technology, has a mix of colour temperatures so it can be adjusted to daylight or nightlight and this coincides perfectly with large natural stone slab walls in varying shades of grey. The pool space encourages daytime relaxation and the loungers are perfectly positioned under an ample skylight for that summer-time feeling all year round.
Additionally, Twisted Pear required warm lighting for a calming effect for the extravagant walk-through shower. With our sophisticated lighting illuminating the natural limestone floor and a high vaulted ceiling adding space, this open plan master is a calming oasis, encouraging wellbeing and tranquility through a harmony of natural elements.
The swimming pool was shortlisted for a 'Residential Swimming Pool Award' in the International Design and Architecture Awards 2016.
